Iowa Testing Prep

We are starting Iowa Testing on Monday.  We prepared by filling out the answer documents and discussing what students can expect during the next 2 weeks of testing.

Chapter 1 Cont.

We finished reading Chapter 1 and students were assigned the Chapter 1 Review.  It is due Thursday.  Father Edward also came into class and began instructing the class.  This will happen most Tuesdays.

We took our test on the books of the new testament.  We then had the character counts assembly.

The test is still scheduled for tomorrow but may be pushed back to Monday due to an assembly tomorrow morning.

New Testament Books Cont.

We continued memorizing the books of the New Testament in order.  We also practiced for tomorrow's mass and practiced spelling each title of the books of the New Testament.

Today we began memorizing the books of the New Testament.  Students were shown three different YouTube videos that could be used to aide their memorization.  The videos are below.
The test will be Friday.  Spelling will count.

Character Counts Cont.

We completed an activity using the pillars of character counts.  We discussed actions we'd like to see more of and actions we'd like to see less of.  We then were going to do a survivor island activity, but I found out they already did it in language arts class.

Character Counts

We discussed Character Counts today.  It is a new program that our school is instituting to improve the quality of our school.  The focus of Character Counts is on 6 pillars below:

First Day

Today we handled all of the first day stuff that needs to take place.  Students received locks, assignment notebooks, and their weekly schedule.  We also discussed some of the changes that took place for this school year.
